Life is a patchwork of moments — laughter, solitude, everyday joys, and quiet aches. Through scribbled stories, I explore travels both far and inward, from sunrise over unfamiliar streets to the comfort of home. This is life as I see it, captured in ink and memory. Stick around; let's wander together.
Almost Meaningful
I was raised in a family where being on time is being late and married a woman who believes that being on time is being early. Has made for many, many very frustrating moments.

It must be true love. So many compromises that unmarried people can’t understand. Because I love being at the center of all attention (so says my wife) we usually like to arrive early. That way I get to greet all the late arrivers and brag about my being first. On the flipside, We usually leave early so I can make a grand exit.

I’m not so sure about the first sentence. ;)
As I’ve got older and my ability to stay up until hours has diminished, that’s part of the justification of getting there on-time/early. We can put in our time and get out sooner. Of course, besides believing being late is being on time, my wife also believes there is no reason to leave until everybody else does and the good-byes take foooooooorever.

I was raised the same way. :-)
And my hubby is slow often.

Fortunately, my wife and I feel the same way when it comes to tardiness. But my daughter-in-law believes that if you get there before it is over, you’re on time.

In a better world there’d be consequences for arriving late. A curse on all their progeny. Castration for males, tubal ligations for females. Dunkings, Amputation of the right hand.

But they could buy their way out of castration by providing the libations for all who had the decency to get there on time.

if people take our car or cash or most things, we wont like it but they can be replaced … but when they steal our time it can never be replaced!

Agreed!
When I taught adults I always started class on time. The latecomers learned I was not going to wait on them and they were going to miss out on what I’d already taught. It cured some of them.
HUGS!!! :-)
PS…I blogged some funny conversations! :-)
