A pile of raked leaves with no child to jump into them
A pet with no one to love
An elderly couple with no one to give to
A house that is not a home
An apple tree with no one to eat its fruit
A secluded path through an autumn forest with no lovers to walk it
A president without a brain
Love it!

Sardonic, bitter, and sad. Truly felt and expressed, Jerry.

Jerry, you show so many wasted riches and build a very sad picture.
Deeply and beautifully written.

I thank you for the visit and comment. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful place if I had nothing to write about.

All sad and wasted things…especially our sad, wasted president without a brain

I hate to be the spreader of FAKE NEWS so I stand corrected. Some of the people I know have told me that he does indeed have a brain…but it only functions at the 3 year old level on those rare occasions when he uses it. We must make sure we are reporting the facts only. I sure don’t want the Trumpeters to egg my house or build a wall across my driveway.

All sad :-( to me.
Excellent, Jerry!
Yes, all wasted things.
And, yet, all have a solution. :-)
Even the last one…maybe the Wizard of Oz could give Donald Scarecrow a brain?!?! Then, again, Donald’s body might reject it. You know, after never having to deal with a brain for the past 71 years.
HUGS!!! :-)

While he is at it maybe he can give the Orange Man a heart, some real hair, a personality, common sense, …

oh my gosh, I so did not see that coming, and I admit, laughed out loud.
When fact truly is stranger than fiction!

If I could just make this stuff up, it might be a number 1 best seller.

That last line catches you unawares Jerry. I was laughing out loud. A good mix of poignancy and satire in your poem.

It’s such a sad poem. And then there is the President without a brain which is well, sad fate.
