Longing

Just a little rhyme I wrote last week when we received 12 inches of snow the day after it was 71 degrees. Talk about dashed hopes. At least it looks like we are headed back into a warming trend for the next two weeks.

~ Dreaming Again…

On dreary winter days when angels weep
I pull a memory from those I keep
and dream of dancing in the summer’s sun

As winter’s cold devours each brown blade
her blanket of snow covers hill and glade
I dream of dancing in the summer’s sun

When leafless limbs get whipped and tossed
I look through my window burdened with frost
and dream of dancing in the summer’s sun

~ A Pioneer’s Prayer…

When frigid winter’s winds roar
out among the lifeless trees
and nature is held captive
inside a merciless freeze

I pray to the God above
I hope he’ll honor my plea
to keep you safe from all harm
and bring you back home to me

Hot chocolate, red noses and hugs
